Come to Lagoon...

Mike's work had a work party at Lagoon.  We have never taken the kids and thought this would be a good year to take them.  Off we went, we thought we would be home pretty early thinking the kids would be worn out and done.  Instead they were worn out, but not done and we stayed pretty late.
They loved it and it was fun to see them have so much fun.

Daddy and Rylie on the Ferriswheel

Bode and Mom on the Ferris wheel!

I think this ride is called the paratrooper or something...  well after the ferris wheel, we decided to try it out.  Bode could not go because he had sandals on.  Mike took Rylie and it was no kiddie ride, it was crazy fast and spinning.  Rylie was screaming bloody murder and Mike is getting greener and greener and almost got sick.  Luckily it was done!!  We then headed to the "kid area".  Much easier on Mike.

Lagoon a beach was a pretty easy place to relax between the rides, the kids had a blast.
Thanks Mike's work!

its all about the hair...

The kids were busy one day cutting out paper and gluing it on paper and were so content.   I took the opportunity to shower.  Soon Bode comes in and says what should I do with this hair!!   He took a big chunk out of the front of it.  Lucky for me it was long enough in front to pull over his little snip.

Well then the day has finally came to decide what to do with Bode's hair!!!   Bode has been wanting a short hair cut, what!!!  I didn't think I would ever do it, but he is growing out of his curls and he is SO done with me doing it and keeping gel in it and all.

So here is the BEFORE....

And here is the AFTER...

What a handsome dude, for sure!   I can't believe how big he looks without his locks and I love it!  Bode loves it too!

Labor day...

Remember this Holiday, it seems like its been forever ago.  Well we ventured over to Bear Lake again with the Roper/Balls family and man was it nice.  The water was perfect, the sand was a blast and the company was a good time.  Perfect way to end the summer.

This is how Rylie spent the day, cartwheeling!

This little monster played and dug in the sand all day long and was so happy, he still wants to go over there to the sand everyday.

and fall is around the corner...

1st Day of Kindergarten...

What in the world, when did my baby girl turn into a kindergartener.  Where did the last 5 years go!   Rylie couldn't have been more excited than she was and she is ready for Kindergarten.  Mom did pretty good taking her until I saw another mom sobbing.  Then I felt the emotions coming on.  So we sent her on her way and got out before a FEW tears fell.
What a big girl, I am so proud of her!!!

Surviving her first day, she loved it.  Loved every minute of it!
I love this picture of her running to tell me all about her first day.
Bode is surviving too!   He was playing in the sand box her first day, came in after a bit and said "lets go get Rylie", I had to tell him she needed to be in school a little longer and we would go to the park until it was time to pick her up.  Hope mom is as fun to have around as Rylie.

When I was doing Rylie's hair for her first day of school, she asked me when she should start cartwheeling and cheering about school.  I was like what???  Then she says remember you read that note to me at school, when do we start doing it?   I then realized what she was talking about, her teacher had put all these different type of shoes in the hallway with all the kids names on them.  The poem next to the shoes said its all.  "I'm hopping, I'm skipping, I'm kicking my heels, I'm shouting, I'm singing, I'm doing cartwheels, I'm bouncing, I'm bursting, I'm giving a cheer -because a new year is finally here!"    Rylie really took the note literally and was going to cartwheel, cheer her way into school.  I love it!   I should of let her, she was so excited to go.

TOU...

Mike ran the TOP OF UTAH half marathon this past weekend and rocked it out in his best time yet - 1:49.   Holy cow that is awesome and his hard work has payed off!
Way to go Hubby!

His awesome support team!!

More summer fun...

Rylie's little cousin Gunner got to spend the night with us.  Neither Mike nor I were up to sleeping outside with them, so we set up the tent in the front room and they had a blast!

Being the great MOM I am, I slept on the tramp with the kids.  It was actually really fun, the kids counted stars until they were sound asleep.  Helps to not give Bode a nap that day and he was tuckered out.  In the morning they had rolled in on me and it was a little close, but I would take that from my kids anytime.

These two have become the best of buds!!!  I think Bode is going to be so bored when Rylie goes to school.  On this particular day, they decided to be twins.  Notice the outfits!!

We spent a lot of time at the Logan Aquatic Center and North Shore will all our good friends!

island park

After our EPIC adventure to Jackson Hole, My mom, Rylie, Bode and I headed to ISLAND PARK for a little getaway!  We had so much fun sitting out on the Dance's cabin deck just hanging out, hiking, playing and relaxing.
We headed out to Big Springs one day, its pretty neat to see and of course play in the water.

While the kids were playing in the water on the dock, this Moose decided to join them in the water.  The kids were so excited to see it and we spent a lot of time just watching it in the water.

The next day we headed into West Yellowstone and stopped at the Bear and Wolf Discovery Center.  It was actually pretty neat to see Bear and wolfs up so close.  We have been talking all summer about being bear aware and I think Rylie realized why after we went to the discovery center.

Next stop was the Mesa Falls, it too was pretty impressive to see.  Mother Nature is absolutely amazing.  The kids are good little troopers on all these little adventures.

 Looking at the lower falls!

I love this picture of Rylie, totally catches her personality.

And this little guy cannot stay clean if his life depended on it!  Check out his face, of course he was playing in the dirt, what else do little boys do.
We sure had fun at the cabin again, thank you Dance's!
And thank you Mom for spending a few wild days with my and my kids.
Summer is wrapping up.

EPIC RELAYS

206 miles from Smithfield to Teton Village.  Some of Mike's family and extended family decided last winter to enter the EPIC RELAY.  Mike had one of the hardest legs and ran of total of 23.5 miles.  They would run, sleep, eat and do it all over again, there goal was to finish in 36 hours and they CRUISED through it and finished in 34 hours.  Mike thought it was pretty darn fun!
They had so much support!  Way to go MILE HIGH RUNNERS!

Jessie and Mike at one of the exchanges.

Billie, Kasey, Sid, Taylee, Shannon, Sallie, Colby, Tara, Mike,
Jessie, Mickie, Sarah, Brad and Bonnie!

So you are probably wondering what I am doing in the picture.  I was the last leg, I got nervous about my legs and whimped out of doing all of them.  I had the last leg of 5 miles to Teton Village!   I have been getting up and running all summer and had done 6 miles at Bear Lake and though I could do it.  I let nerves get the best of me and panicked part way through and got help.   So i guess I did put in a few miles of the 206! HA HA!!!  (I am not going to beat myself up about it anymore, I was so sick about running it and have had a lot of tears over this race.  I haven't ran long distance since highschool and am pretty proud of how far I have came, I just don't think the pressure of races is for me)
At least the MILE HIGH RUNNERS finished and survivied.  Way to go everybody!
