this is our life...

Today I took the kids to the park, it was a bit breezy, but it is so nice to be out and about though. Bode was climbing on the bleachers by the park and was carrying something is his hand, I thought it looked like a pine cone. When I got closer I realized it was a DEAD BIRD HEAD, yes just the head. I was so disgusted and ran to get the hand santizer and wet wipes. UUUGGGHH

Rylie told me a while back that "Justin Beiber is hot", i started laughing and asked her who told her that? I was thinking her older cousins that we had just spend time with. Nope, it was her best little four year old buddy. I got quite the kick out of it. So i asked Rylie what does HOT mean, "you know mom, like steam".. Good thing she really isn't into Justin Beiber... YET!

this is our LIFE!

Easter Happenings...

The fun of coloring Easter eggs. We don't get too crazy around here with our eggs, but they worked out. Bode was strapped down in his high chair so he would stay out of the dye. He was not a happy camper about it, we even gave him plastic eggs to play with and he knew he wasn't getting the real thing. Rylie concentrating on her work.
Mike concentrating on holding the egg just right The little guy who is stuck in his high chair and not happy about it.
The girls masterpiece...

This is our loot from Lee's, we just happened to be there when they were starting so we did the bunny trail. And Bode loved dragging his basket from Lee's all around.

more bumps and bruises

This little guy is very ambitious and always full of energy. He ends up with all sorts of bumps and bruises, but this one was a picture worthy Check out the green goose egg on his forehead! He tripped over a toy and ended up hitting the edge of the dresser.

sleeping beauties....

These two always join me in bed in the morning and I usually get kicked out. Look at Bode's face in this picture, he is so excited.

I went to tuck Rylie in the other night and this is what I found. Almost all her kids were in bed with her, but my favorite part is the purple tutu she has on and the flowers in her hair. What a girl.

And this little guy, LOVES his monkey I usually find him laying in some weird position or with his bum in the air and face planted into the bumper!

St. George 2011...

There is nothing better in the spring than nice sunny weather, green grass, and a chance to go to St. George to get it all. My family (minus one of my brothers and his family) all made the trek down south to enjoy it all. We had so much fun hanging out as a family and just playing. We hiked the red cliffs to the waterfall, played in the sand at snow canyon, biked, played at the pool, tennis, and went to every park we could find to just play! I love being able to spend time with family! Serious sunny pictures ahead.... Oh too cute! We never have pictures together!

something to celebrate...

We had a very fun reason for my family to head to St. George (post to come) and celebrate.

My mom turned the big 60 this year. We celebrated by giving her 60 presents or things she loves like ... chapstick, daffodils, coke, green apples, black jelly beans, el sol, cadbury eggs, peeps, orange slices, raspberries, fresh salsa, avocados, fiesta ware, travel atlas, salt and vinegar chips, magazines, new pencils, quilting needles, etc... It was fun for all the kids to think of things MOM loves. I think she even got a bit embarrassed opening so many gifts! Since MOM has 6 kids, we all wrote 10 things we love about her and put them in a jar. What an amazing women with so many compliments. I hope I can be half the mom and wife she is. It makes you want to be a better person for sure. Happy Birthday Mom, we sure do love you, look up to you, and want to be like you!! Obviously my kids adore their grandma, check out the picture of them fighting over her below.

Happy 60th Birthday MOM!

1st ER visit...

My little Monkey has climbed so many things he should not have, he gets lots of bumps and bruises, but this time it was a little too much for mom to take and we took him to the ER. We were up visiting Bode's great grandparents who live in this log home. The railing for the loft and stair well is two logs. Bode started down the stairs on his belly and slid right under the railing and dropped about 8 feet or so to the carpet below. It happened so fast! He cried pretty hard and took a bit to calm him down, well quite a bit. We just really weren't sure if he was okay or not. We took him into the ER and he may have a small fracture on his hand behind his pointer finger, but there is not much they do for a child his age. So we just have to watch and make sure it still doesn't hurt him in about a week. I can't tell you how scary it was. I was so glad Mike was with me, my parents were able to meet us and grab Rylie, and that he is okay. The poor little guy is pretty shaken up and a bit sore, but will be okay. His great Grandma Kay had just painted Rylie's fingernails and Bode wanted his painted too. It just so happens that was the hand that had to be x-rayed.... too cute.
I got a picture of him this morning after a long night with his cute blue fingernails. I really hope this is not a sign of whats to come with this little guy!!!
