gardening

We planted a garden at my parents home.
A huge garden, we weren't sure if it would grow or not,
so we planted double and it grew triple amounts.
It was a crazy!

truck load of squash

This is only about third of the carrots, we grew purple ones too!

first crop of cucumbers, I love cucumbers and really ate my heart out.
but sometimes there is too much of a good thing...

This is the pumpkin that Rylie grew from a seed last year in kindergarten, she was pretty excited about it!  I was quite impressed.

Bode using his dump truck to haul pumpkins to the porch.

I have bottled beans, peaches, and salsa every year.
This year I (well my mom with me assisting) bottled for my new cold storage
21 quarts of green beans
7 quarts of apple pie filling
2 different types of pickles
apricot syrup and jam
beets
carrots
I can't wait to line the shelves of my new cold storage

more pumpkin pictures, can you even find my kids.
we grew 80+ pumpkins

Labor Day Weekend, school is in full swing.  Life is back to routine and then we get to escape it all again on Labor Day Weekend.
This year we headed out camping up emigration canyon and
spending the day at Bear Lake.  Kade and Erica families joined us and it was a great weekend.

Rylie & Oakley are dressed and hair done as twins.
Sunday afternoon, we headed up St. Charles canyon for a drive.  Ended up at blue springs.

Then finished the weekend off with raspberry shakes, yes we enjoy our raspberry shake.
Bode enjoyed it too!!

Back to school

Back to school...
Rylie first day at 1st Grade
and at a new school.

She is growing up on me and I was not ready for the 1st day of 1st grade.  It seemed so far away six years ago, but then it came.  I tried to hold it together, but there was tears!!  She begged me to walk her in, I did it through the tears.  She says "mom, why are you crying?" and I could tell that I was making her nervous.  So I said "these are happy tears, I am just so excited with all the fun things you will do in 1st grade".  Gave her a love and was out.  she did great!!

She is kinda liking lunch, but loves recess and PE, Art, Music and learning a new language.

This big guy is growing up too.
His 1st day at joyschool

He gets a little anxiety about leaving me, but has done well with his school
He loves learning, playing, friends and playing some more

august

Seriously, where does summer go.   Its such a crazy fun few months and yet so busy.
Grandpa kept Bode while I ran an errand, I was only gone a minute and when I got back they were both sound asleep on the floor.  I can't ever get Bode to nap, pretty cute.  He loves his grandpa!!

Rylie at the SkyView tennis camp...

I think we about hit all the parks from Logan north this Summer, including the splash pad.
Kids love a chance to play in the water
Mike did the epic relay again this year.  We followed him along the course and then took advantage of an opportunity to go to Jackson Hole.
We stayed  in Alpine in a motel, the kids were a bit nervous at first then settled right in and thought it was pretty cool.  Swam in the pool. I mean bathtub

Yes, he is trying to push her off the bed.

Saw Mike off on this last leg in Hoback and took off to JH square.  What a fun place to hang out and shop!  Kids are really becoming some pretty good adventurours

at the finish line 2013 Mile High Runners. they were an hour faster than last year!
Way to go team!
