Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  WE love Easter around here and for some reason our Easter bunny LOVES Easter too.  Its just to hard to stay away from all the spring colors and fun when winter just barely got over.

Bode had to be woke up Easter morning so we could make it too church.  He was a very tired boy from all the fun we had the day before and was good with one egg!

Easter bunny puts eggs and baskets all over the house, in the kids bed, and all over the backyard.  Yup, we are spoiled and love it.

Rylie was determined to get the egg out of the tree.
Even if it meant using a bat.

new Church clothes, they are so adorable!! I love these kids of mine!

Posing in their new spring clothes.  Love the bright colors

My mom and dad go all out for Easter.  We had such a good dinner, I mean the BEST Easter dinner ever.  Her potato salad and devil eggs are the best.  I got assigned to bring rolls this year which was easy enough for me to buy!  But my mom always makes home made rolls at Easter and they are the best for a ham sandwich that evening.  I braved making homemade rolls and they turned out SOOO good, I even made them again.

Ready to do the Easter Egg hunt.

 My cute family, love Easter!

and of course US!
Happy Easter!

easter happenings...

Easter happenings... life gets rolling by sometime and its the little things we get to do together that mean the most.  I love holidays because it gives us reasons to do little things.
like Coloring easter eggs!  Who doesn't love that mess.

We love picking Rylie up from school and spending the rest of the day with her.  When she got home from school, they had an easter egg lunch.  They were pretty excited.

We tried something new this year and hope it too becomes a tradition!

We went to the town easter egg hunt in Weston.  It was so fun and the kids were excited to be with their cousins.  That always makes it more fun.

Grandma Kay was helping Bode open his eggs.  I couldn't resist this picture of them, isn't it so cute. My Children are SOOOO lucky to be able to spend time with all their grandparents.

Hopping down the bunny trail!  2013 and 2012  Pretty cute kids!

more random pictures

Who knows what these two where up too?  They are into Posing for pictures!
March 2013

Bode is into doing his hair, and doing it several times a day.  He comes it down, gels it and then runs the brush through it to get the style below.  Yes he is still adorable.

One sunny day, Rylie drew this picture with sidewalk chalk.  It rained like 20 minutes later and wiped it away.  She is quite the artist and so creative

Rylie and Bode have been into playing Basketball !

Rylie had "crazy hair day" at school.
We forgot until that morning, but no matter what, she looks pretty darn sweet.

more spring pictures...

This spring has brought some crazy weather.  We go from cold and snowy to warm and sunny!
Rylie and Bode playing outback one warm/snow day!  Yes Rylie is in a dance outfit, jacket and boots.  Yes Bode has on like four shirts so he doesn't have to wear a coat and boots.

Bode's favorite thing this winter was feeding cows with Grandpa Smith.  We made several trips up so Bode could feed. It's a pretty special thing for Bode and I think Grandpa too.  Today they were going to check on the cows and I thought they looked pretty darn special walking hand and hand!!

Attended the AGGIE gymnastic meets with good friends and had a good time.

Bode cannot wait for warm weather...  Here he is digging the snowbank to help melt the snow.

He loves to work!  Such a BOY!!
now onto spring weather and spring break!

Disney on Ice...

Disney On Ice 2013...  What a fun time and the closest thing we get to Disneyland.  The kids loved Cinderella, Princess and the frog, but really loved Tangled.  Loved Rapunzel and Flynn swinging on Rapunzel's hair.  They also loved Maxim, I think that was my favorite part too.
Thanks for going with the crazy Becksteads, Grandma.

Look at the size of popcorn we got!
Of course who wouldn't be entertained with that size of bucket.

Ski the beav!!

My kids have turned into little ski bums!  We love heading up to the Beav skiing.  This year while Rylie was in her lessons, I thought I would let Bode try it, he picked it up pretty quick and loved it.  He likes speed and that scares mom a bit!  Rylie is doing so awesome and is so fun to watch her grow.  We have a great time just her and I hitting the slopes and lots of laughs on the ski lifts.
I hope they both continue to LOVE it so we can spend all winter out
of the valley smog and in the mountains!

random february...

Rylie was so excited to FINALLY loose her 1st top tooth.  I say slow down and quit growing up on me.  She couldn't wait for it to come out and for the tooth fairy to visit.
I think the missing tooth is adorable.

Bode wishing his teeth are loose, so the toothfairy will come.

Look at this beauty!!   Grandma Kay made this scarf for Rylie, we are pretty spoiled by her talents.  Look how grown up she looks!

And look at this beautiful lumber jack!  He was sick and tired of being cold during the "cold days"  and came up with his own hat and borrowed my scarf for a day.
With his beard and hat,  he looks like he is ready for the tundra!
My kids love playing in the snow!  But I thought this picture says it all.  They look like little bear cubs rolling around in the snow and loving every minute of it.
Bode's first night in a big boy bed!  He LOVED his crib and never tried to get out (a bit scared of heights) and I loved knowing where he was at.  Mike decided I couldn't keep him in it forever, so we got him a big boy bed.  He loves it and sleeps really good!

My favorite Uncle passed away this month.  It was one of the hardest things that I have had to go through.  He was an amazing man with the biggest heart, always found the best in people and had a way of serving others.  Family meant everything to him!   And he meant everything to me!  I have some cherished memories that I want to journal...
He sold me my first car, a little silver toyota, and  I loved it.  I drove it from SLC and coming over sardine canyon it died on me and I had to be towed to Richmond.  The next morning, I woke up to My uncle and Dad fixing my little car. After that it ran like a champ.

He tought me how to water ski, starting when I was just little.  The best part was how he never gave up on pulling me up and was so patient.  He would just keep pulling his boat around and around to give me the roap until I could pull up.  And it took alot for me to finally figure it out.  He would then hollar out YAAAAYYY!  with his fist pumped in the air.
It was a classic hollar I couldn't wait to hear.

At Bear Lake, he let me stay in his cabin when I sold raspberries as a teen.  He talked to my date at Bear Lake like he was my dad and made sure the young man understood when I should be back.  I learned how to play (cheat) at gin by my uncle.  I always looked forward to a good game with him.

He was so generous when I stayed with him and my aunt during my internship, we had wonderful conversations.  I looked up to him so much.  He loved my little family so much and always showed it. He took both my kids for their first boat rides, tube rides. He called Rylie princess!   I felt so close to him. loved him, and will miss him so much, but I thank him for touching my heart the way he did.   I cherish the time we had together.   He was such a generous man with a huge heart.
 It's all about family!
